Along the way, you'll become familiar with all of us as you see and hear about what we're doing. I, Nicole, will be your guide in this grand adventure most of the time, but on occasion I'll let my grade-schoolers post their opinions. My husband is Roger, with some experience in rehabs, having done 3 houses previously that have since been sold as well as entirely redoing the house we live in. He is also the one who somehow convinces the rest of us that purchasing these houses in their current condition is a good idea. Chase and Indigo are 8 and 6, my children from a previous relationship. Having met Roger when they were 4 and 2, they have grown up thinking that tearing down walls is a perfectly acceptable after-school activity.

We heard a year's worth of "when are we going to do another house?" in between selling the previous rehab and picking up this one, so they are obviously excited about our project. Riley is our own creation, a lively 20-month-old who probably has no idea what she's in for. Born at the tail-end of our last project house, she slept on the kitchen counter while Daddy used the ridiculously loud floor sander in the next room and hung out in her carseat while we finished the trim and other final details. Maybe showing her some pictures will refresh her memory.

We're currently 21 weeks into my 4th pregnancy, so there is some far-off hope that perhaps this house will be completed (ha!) before the birth of our son in late July/early August. You'll hear him referred to as "Toot," the nickname his big sister Riley has given him based on her favorite page of her favorite potty book where the uni-gender toddler finally goes on the potty ("Tinkle Tinkle Toot!"). How awesome it will be for him later in life where he learns his nickname came from the magical appearance of a turd.
So read on, visit us often, comment your opinions and we hope you enjoy our Farmhouse Adventures!
